In 2001 Pilar remerged into the music scene with her second album Desahogo. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Latin Billboard Chart and sold over 200,000 copies in the United States reaching Platinum status. The album produced the hit single, a cover of Yolandita Monge’s “Quitame Ese Hombre”, which hit No. 1 and earned Pilar various award nominations.
